Planning your Kilimanjaro climb

If you are planning to climb Kilimanjaro then why not let the experts arrange your trip for you? From your arrival into Kilimanjaro airport you will be met by Zara staff who will greet you with a friendly smile and transfer you to the Springlands hotel. Here you will have time to rest from your flight before beginning your chosen trek the following morning. Route Summary

In order to give yourself the best chance of successfully reaching the summit we indicate in the table the recommended number of days to be spent on each route. -1 indicates the possibility of shortening the trip by one day.

For those that don't require the additional day for accliatisation the price is reduced by $240 ($335 for the Marangu route). There is an additional vehicle surcharge of $120 for both the Lemosho and Rongai route.

LEMOSHO The longest route on Kilimanjaro. A great option with scenic views and good acclimatisation. 56km 8 (-1) $2155
MACHAME Often referred to as the 'Whiskey route' this is a popular choice. Beautiful forest scenery on the lower slopes. Good for acclimatisation - an extra day is beneficial for those that haven't trekked to high altitude before. 49km 7 (-1) $1915
MARANGU Best known as the 'Coca Cola' route and was once the most popular choice as it is the shortest route on Kilimanjaro. Accommodation is in communal huts on the mountain. Recommended as a 6 day trek for the best acclimatisation. 64km 6 (-1) $1428
RONGAI A great choice of route, becoming one of the most popular for the mountain scenery and remoteness of the route. 65km 7 -1 $1915
UMBWE Shortest and steepest route. This is a tough option to take and is recommended for those that have previous experience with mountain trekking and high altitude. 37km 6 $1675
